GNOW Guidelines
Guidelines for Members of
Global Nexus of Watchmen
Welcome to GNOW! We look forward to getting to know you and what God has given you to steward as a global watchman if your application to join is approved.
Below are our guidelines for how we operate in GNOW, in terms of maintaining our purpose, meetings and forums. Please take some time to read and digest these. They are in place to support us to keep our focus on what God has called us to do, and maintaining our purpose, group integrity, safety - as well as helping us support all members to receive maximum benefit from being a part of GNOW.
In these guidelines, where we may make reference to submitting words and dreams, these are not limitations to scope, as we recognise that the revelation and knowledge God gives to a watchman can be expressed by Him in a wide variety of ways, as reflected in scripture (for example, audible voice, giving the watchman a knowing, day / night visions, being taken by God somewhere in the spirit, angelic visitations, and so on).
Where we make reference to watchmen bringing warnings from God, we recognise these can often be associated with adverse events, however we also recognise in scripture that watchmen also reported good news, and warnings can also be of specific events of global relevance that may bring times of relief, physical/spiritual regeneration, economic upturn, and so forth (e.g. 2 Sam 18:26, Jere 31:6, Matt 25:6) –in either case, we can seek the Lord as to strategies for preparation and stewarding of what is to come.
If you have any questions or queries, please reach out to the GNOW leaders at prophets@globalnexuswatchmen.org . Our points of contact within the leadership team are:

General
The heart posture of a Watchman is very important. The following are guidelines to help us with keeping a pure and humble attitude. If at any time GNOW leaders feel that a member is consistently not aligning with these, leaders may ask them to step away for a season and consider if this is the right community for them.
As Global Watchmen we do not hold any nation in preference to another nation. We also do not hold any political view as more valid than any other. We are Kingdom of God focused and that doesn’t always (or often) align with our national or political agendas! We need to be alert to our prejudice, attitudes, and preferences. It is important to regularly ask the Lord to reveal any area you need to deal with and be mindful of your responses to events and situations.
GNOW is a community of Watchmen with a Global perspective. As such we will receive warnings and judgements for the Church and the wider community of humanity; some of which the Lord may give clear strategy to stop it from happening, but some may come with instructions to work with His purposes in them. It is important that we take either position in humility and never exalt in suffering.
We will not always agree with one another or our interpretations of a Prophetic Warning may differ according to our experiences. Please be respectful to one another as we wrestle with what the Lord is revealing and remember that we all see in part and need one another to sharpen our understanding. Where there is a strong continued disagreement on any matter, each person should steward the word prayerfully as the Lord leads them, and GNOW leaders may also decide not to pursue it further within GNOW meetings/forums.
Any word that you submit for consideration remains your responsibility to steward and you are free to share it with any other group with or without our community’s additional reflection and insight.
It is our intention to grow in maturity as Watchmen with global perspectives. Teaching and challenge will be regularly developed.
We are not an exclusive group, and you are welcome to belong to any other organisation. We strongly encourage members to do so and to be part of a healthy local church, though we recognise this is not always possible.
Use of Flare & Other Communications
Group chats and forums are for the specific purpose set in each one. These are for communication and reflection on words (submitted via the website) that are being considered. The admin will delete anything that is not appropriate to the discussion.
Please do not share personal prayer requests on the group chats or forums, except where this is the specific purpose of the group.
Prophetic Words and Dreams should not be shared on the group chats. Please submit them through the form on the globalnexuswatchman.org website.
Be kind in your communication with one another. Anyone who fails to treat others with respect in chats or forums will be removed.
Meetings
When we gather together for online meetings or in person, these are precious times to prayerfully consider what the Lord has been revealing. The leader(s) of the meeting will share words / dreams that have been submitted with a specific focus and there will be time for consideration and discussion. The aim is to receive revelation and strategy relating to the words that have been submitted.
Where there are strategies to be implemented by GNOW members, further ‘working’ groups may be established to take this forward. You are welcome to join these or not as you choose. As strategy is received, this will be shared with the wider community and beyond as the Lord leads.
As with group chats / forums, do not share personal prayer requests in meetings as this will distract from the global issues. You should also not share new prophetic words – these should be submitted through the forms. This is so that we can keep a clear focus in our meetings. If the group is reflecting on a word that you have submitted you will be given opportunity to share any further insights as part of the reflection time.
Please give way to one another and allow each other time to speak. We want to follow Biblical patterns of care and respect (e.g., Philippians 2:3, 1 Peter 2:17, 1 Peter 3:15, Romans 12:10). Each of you should consider others before yourself and take the posture of servant. If someone raises their hand to contribute, please consider giving way to them as soon as appropriate. Leaders may ask you to wait or let someone else speak.
If anyone speaks in a way that is overly ideological, discriminatory, or aggressive, they will be asked to stop, and continuation will result in removal from the meeting. This is important because we want to maintain a healthy and respectful community where no one is intimidated, while still allowing different perspectives and understandings to be heard.
Online meetings have different benefits to face-to-face meetings, including the ability to meet with people from all over the world. To get the most out of our times together ensure you are in a space with as little distraction as possible. To ensure we provide a transparent, inclusive, and welcoming online environment, always ensure that your camera is on so that you can fully participate in the meetings. If you have a problem with your camera or internet, please let us know so that we can help you manage this. There is no need to be muted when not speaking, but be aware of noises that may distract others and mute when appropriate. The leader(s) may mute people if required.
Do not invite people who are not members into meetings, either online or in person. If someone wishes to join GNOW they should submit a request through the website. This is the for the protection of all members.
Video or audio recordings may at times be made of meetings, solely for the purposes of GNOW’S own internal review, learning and training. In the event we wish to make a recording, the meeting leader/s will notify the group in advance and seek permission of all members. Recordings will not be available to GNOW members for replay/download, and we encourage you to keep your own notes as needed. All words discussed on the call, however, will be available on the Flare channels.
Member/Group Safety & Privacy
Please respect the privacy of all group members, both in Flare app forums and in meetings.
Do not take photos/screenshots or recordings of the meetings or chats for the purposes of sharing them with anyone else, including on social media, and do not share elsewhere any personal information you hear/read that has been disclosed by another GNOW member unless they have given you permission.
Do not use the GNOW meetings or Flare channels for promotions of items such as businesses, sales, fundraising causes, events, etc. However, we recognise that there will be events and resources that will be relevant to GNOW and useful for members, so please contact the leaders to discuss if you wish to share any.
GNOW leadership commit to privacy and data protection laws and will only use your information for the purposes of your GNOW membership. We will not share your personal information without your consent, in which case there would need to be a valid reason to do so. Should there be occasions we need to send a group email, your email address will be hidden.
If you have concerns regarding your GNOW membership or any aspect of how GNOW is operated, we take these seriously and invite you to raise your concerns in confidence with the leadership team, so we can address these and ensure appropriate action is taken.
