Intercessor Guidelines

Global Nexus of Watchmen - Intercessor Network

Welcome to GNOW-IN!

Below are our guidelines for GNOW-IN operations. Please take time to read and digest these, as they are to support us to maintain our purpose, group integrity, safety as we support and mobilise intercession.

If you have any questions or queries, please reach out to the GNOW-IN Leadership at prophets@globalnexuswatchmen.org .

General

We seek to keep a pure and humble heart posture as intercessors. If at any time GNOW-IN Leaders feel that a member is consistently not aligning with these, Leaders may ask them to step away for a season and consider if this is the right role for them.

When engaging in intercession, we acknowledge we do not do so from our own preferences, values, or judgements regarding the issue we are interceding for but are to be led by the Holy Spirit regarding how to intercede. With this in mind, we are aware we may at times be called to intercede regarding warnings and judgments for church, societal spheres, nations, and other arenas. In these cases, the Holy Spirit may lead with clear intercession strategies – for example, to prevent an event, or He may lead us not to pray to avert it, but to pray for the preparation and positioning of a people, region, group, the church etc. so that they are in the best possible position to receive and experience the mercy, love and salvation of God in the midst of the circumstances.

We acknowledge that there are a variety of intercession gifts and expressions (1 Peter 4:10, 1 Corinthians 12:4). Therefore, in addition to the GNOW-IN general intercession meetings, we may at times hold separate meetings for intercessors functioning in specific areas to address specific issues (e.g., frontline spiritual warfare issues, strongholds).

GNOW-IN meetings

Intercessory meetings are for the purposes specified and not for the sharing of personal prayer requests. Promotions of events and resources in meetings should be discussed with the Leader first).

In preparation for GNOW-IN intercessory meetings, we ask you please:

Come prepared having prayed in advance for the meeting and for the guidance of the Holy Spirit during this

Where an issue/topic is known in advance, please spend some time with the Lord for a ‘Holy Spirit scan’ – i.e. a check for any heart issues, attitudes, or agreements regarding the issue that are not of Him, and should any be identified, spend time with Him repenting and receiving His cleansing (and keep our heart open to Him in this respect throughout the meeting)

For online meetings, please join from a quiet space without distractions.

Please do not bring any guests into the meetings, these are for GNOW-IN members only. If someone wishes to join GNOW-IN they should submit a request through the website. This is for the protection of all members.

We recognise that intercession may be expressed or led by the Holy Spirit in a variety of ways during intercessory meetings, e.g., some may be louder and vocal, others quiet and reflective, and using various prayer languages.

As we are led by the Holy Spirit, please also follow the guidance/prompts of the meeting Leader, who may, for example, lead in free ‘all-at once/mics on’ intercession, or in one-at-a-time style, or silence, etc.

We want to follow Biblical patterns of care and respect (e.g., Philippians 2:3, 1 Peter 2:17, 1 Peter 3:15, Romans 12:10). Each of us should consider others before yourself and take the posture of servant.

If someone raises their hand to pray, please consider giving way to them as soon as appropriate Leaders may also ask you to wait or let someone else pray.

To ensure we provide a transparent, inclusive, and welcoming online environment, always ensure that your camera is on so that you can fully participate in the meetings. If you have a problem with your camera or internet, please let us know so that we can help you manage this. There is no need to mute your microphone when not speaking but please be aware of noises that may distract others and mute when appropriate. The Leader(s) may mute people if required.

GNOW-IN meetings are not recorded. This is also for the protection of all members. However, should there be any reason a meeting should be recorded, this would not take place without consent of all members present and recordings will be stored securely by GNOW and will not be downloadable or shared with any other parties.

Please also see the next section regarding communications.

Use of Flare and other GNOW-IN communications

Group chats and forums are for the specific purpose set in each one. The admin will delete anything that is not appropriate to the discussion.

Please do not share personal prayer requests on the group chats or forums, except where this is the specified purpose of the group.

Prophetic words, dreams etc. should not be shared on the group chats. If you have received prophetic watchman words, please submit these via the GNOW website (www.globalnexuswatchmen.org)

Be kind in your communication with one another. Anyone who fails to treat others with respect in chats or forums will be removed.

If anyone speaks in a way that is overly ideological, discriminatory, or aggressive, they will be asked to stop, and continuation will result in removal from the meeting/forum, as we want to maintain a healthy and respectful community where no one is intimidated, while still allowing different perspectives and understandings to be heard.

Member/Group Safety & Privacy

Please respect the privacy of all group members, both in Flare app forums and in meetings.

Do not take photos/screenshots or recordings of the meetings or chats for the purposes of sharing them with anyone else, including on social media, and do not share elsewhere any personal information you hear/read that has been disclosed by another GNOW-IN member unless they have given you permission.

Do not use the GNOW-IN meetings or Flare channels for promotions of items such as businesses, sales, fundraising causes, events, etc. However, we recognise that there will be events and resources that will be relevant to GNOW-IN and useful for members, so please contact the Leaders to discuss if you wish to share any.

GNOW/GNOW-IN Leadership commit to privacy and data protection laws and will only use your information for the purposes of your GNOW-IN membership. We will not share your personal information without your consent, in which case there would need to be a valid reason to do so. Should there be occasions we need to send a group email, your email address will be hidden.

If you have concerns regarding your GNOW-IN membership or any aspect of how GNOW/GNOW-IN is operated, we take these seriously and invite you to raise your concerns in confidence with the Leadership team, so we can address these and ensure appropriate action is taken.
